The Initial Balance is the single most referenced range by institutional traders every session. TradersAlly IB turns this concept into a fully automated trading system — detecting the IB formation, analyzing volume and momentum conditions, selecting the optimal entry strategy, and executing trades with precise risk management. All on your NinjaTrader 8 chart, in real time.

Two Entry Strategies, One Intelligent System

Fib Retracement Entries place limit orders at fibonacci levels within the IB range, entering on pullbacks after the IB direction is established. On a bullish IB, the system buys the dip. On a bearish IB, it sells the rally. Entry depth, take profit, and stop loss are fully configurable — target the opposite IB edge, the extension level, or fixed points.

Breakout Entries place stop-market orders beyond the IB High and Low, catching continuation moves when price breaks out of the range. Stops retrace back into the IB at a configurable percentage, and entries can be filtered by momentum, OBV magnitude, VWAP positioning, and Fair Value Gaps.

Use either strategy independently, or let Auto Correlation Routing decide for you — the system detects whether price and OBV are aligned (trending with conviction) or divergent (likely to reverse), then automatically selects breakout or fib retracement for each session.

Key Features

Cascading IB Windows (15/30/60 min) — Evaluates three IB durations with OBV gates. The first tier to confirm volume conviction becomes the active IB — no more guessing the right duration.

Dynamic Position Sizing — Set a maximum dollar loss per trade. The system calculates contracts automatically based on stop distance, ensuring consistent risk regardless of IB width.

Momentum Modifier — On strong trending days, the entry automatically shifts to a shallower fib level because strong trends don't retrace as deeply. Dual confirmation from momentum and OBV prevents false triggers.

Swing Filter & Flip — Detects structural double-zone pivots during IB. If momentum confirms the trend, the filter lifts. If momentum fades, it flips to the opposite direction at the pivot price.

Continuous IB Invalidation — Monitors the IB range after entry placement. If price breaches the IB boundary, working orders are cancelled — with an optional one-bar grace period when momentum confirms.

Runner with Swing Trail — Split entries into a base position and a runner. After the base TP hits, the runner moves to breakeven and optionally trails using confirmed swing pivots.

Fib Flip Detection — When a fib premise fails, the system detects the reversal and enters in the new direction after N bars confirm.

On-Chart Dashboard & Labels — Live statistics panel showing win rate, profit factor, and P&L by strategy. Each IB session is labeled with Aligned/Divergent status, engulfing detection, cascade tier, and momentum reading.

Every trade is bracketed with OCO orders from the moment of entry. A hard stop at 4:55 PM EST closes any remaining positions automatically. Cooldown periods prevent emotional re-entry after losses. Maximum trades per direction per session keep you disciplined.

Built for Optimization

A built-in CSV session log exports one line per session with every IB metric, filter result, and trade outcome. Run the indicator across months of historical data, paste into a spreadsheet, and find the parameter combinations that work for your instrument. The historical stat engine tracks fib entries, breakout entries, swing flips, and fib flips independently — so you can see exactly which strategies are contributing to your edge.

Compatibility

NinjaTrader 8 indicator with integrated auto-trading via the NinjaTrader Account API. Works on any instrument with a 5-minute chart. Designed and tested primarily on MES, ES, MNQ, and NQ.
